About this role
Apex is hiring a Mission Integration Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between customers and internal teams for commercial satellite bus development and deployment. The role encompasses spacecraft analysis, mission planning, integration oversight, and on-site launch support to ensure mission success across earth observation, communications, and other space applications.
What you'll do
- Lead spacecraft integration and testing including payload integration, environmental qualification, and launch vehicle coordination
- Perform orbital mechanics analysis, trajectory planning, and spacecraft deployment strategy development
- Act as primary technical liaison between customers and internal engineering teams
- Analyze loads, thermal, and electromagnetic compatibility data; develop mission-specific budgets for power, mass, and data
- Travel to launch sites for payload integration, system checkouts, and launch rehearsals
- Support requirements verification, FMEA, risk assessment, and technical documentation for customer compliance
