About this role
Apex is hiring an Environmental Test Engineer to design and execute comprehensive testing protocols for satellite bus platforms. You'll manage environmental testing equipment, conduct qualification and production-level testing, analyze results, and collaborate across teams to ensure spacecraft reliability before launch.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute environmental test plans including vibration, thermal cycling, TVAC, EMI/EMC, and pneumatic pressure testing
- Procure, set up, and maintain testing equipment such as vibration shakers and thermal chambers
- Perform production and qualification-level testing with functional and performance validation
- Analyze test data, interpret results, and generate comprehensive reports
- Troubleshoot issues across spacecraft and test equipment systems
- Collaborate with production, design, and quality teams to resolve technical issues

- Aerospace environmental testing standards (MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, GSFC-STD-7000)
- Test equipment operation and maintenance
- Instrumentation knowledge (thermocouples, accelerometers, DAQ systems)
- Data analysis and technical reporting
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Python or LabVIEW programming (preferred)
- Data acquisition software
