Information Security Engineer Intern
About this role
Appian is seeking a cybersecurity-focused intern for a 10-week summer program to contribute to live security operations, cloud infrastructure defense, and compliance automation. You'll work alongside security experts in McLean, Virginia, gaining hands-on experience in threat analysis, automated governance, and enterprise security frameworks while pursuing a relevant STEM degree.
What you'll do
- Execute continuous monitoring activities aligned with internal security controls and compliance standards
- Help design and implement automated processes for security reviews and control evaluations
- Assess security risks, vulnerability trends, and technical requirements across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate security concepts into actionable strategies
- Evaluate risk profiles and contribute to Appian's global information security program
