About this role

Applied Intuition seeks an experienced HIL Engineer to develop, deploy, and maintain hardware-in-the-loop simulation rigs for autonomous vehicle validation. You'll integrate third-party sUAS hardware with flight stacks, manage diverse ARM and x86 systems, and solve complex hardware-software integration challenges across a growing fleet.

What you'll do

  • Manage and scale a fleet of HIL rigs supporting diverse requirements across ARM and x86 architectures
  • Integrate, test, deploy, and maintain HIL solutions with Group 1-3 sUAS platforms and companion computers
  • Design and integrate Applied simulators with flight controllers (Pixhawk), flight stacks (ArduPilot, PX4), and sensor data
  • Configure firmware, flash devices, and manage automated testing across flight controllers and auxiliary hardware
  • Develop automation scripts in Python and Bash for provisioning, health-checking, and fleet monitoring
  • Debug hardware-software integration issues including timing constraints, MAVLink latency, and serial communication faults

What they're looking for

  • Linux system administration and command-line expertise
  • Hardware debugging with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters
  • Embedded communication protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN)
  • Python and Bash scripting for automation and infrastructure
  • IP networking fundamentals (TCP/UDP, routing, subnetting)
  • CI/CD pipeline development for hardware test environments
  • sUAS hardware and flight controller experience
  • Cross-functional collaboration and technical ownership

Benefits

  • Work on cutting-edge autonomous vehicle validation technology
  • Collaborate with embedded software and simulation teams
