About this role

Applied Intuition seeks a Hardware Test Engineer to validate automotive-grade PCB designs through board-level testing, lab automation, and prototype characterization. You'll work on next-generation compute hardware for infotainment, ADAS, and controller units in software-defined vehicles, collaborating across electrical design, systems, and software teams.

What you'll do

  • Execute and improve validation test plans for custom automotive PCBs
  • Characterize board performance using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, DAQ)
  • Automate test routines and lab equipment using Python or similar scripting languages
  • Analyze results and document findings in reports for internal teams and customers
  • Collaborate with design and software teams on board bring-up and root cause analysis
  • Follow OEM test protocols (LV124, ISO 16750, CISPR) and maintain lab infrastructure

What they're looking for

  • Board-level testing and validation
  • Lab test equipment operation (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, power meter)
  • Test automation (Python, LabView, or similar)
  • Thermal, structural, and electrical stress testing
  • Automotive/defense OEM test protocol familiarity
  • Schematic reading and component-level debugging
  • Documentation and technical communication
  • Vehicle electronics validation experience

Benefits

  • Ownership of significant projects within a small, nimble hardware team
  • Exposure to next-generation hardware across multiple industries
  • Opportunities for system-level testing on software-defined vehicle builds
  • 5-day in-office work with flexibility for occasional remote arrangements
  • Collaborative environment with electrical design, systems, and software teams
