Build Engineer
About this role
Arc is seeking a Build Engineer to lead the transition of commercial electric vessels from development to high-rate production. You'll own manufacturing processes, factory layout, design-for-manufacturability decisions, and production tooling to scale their electrified marine platform from prototype to full production.
What you'll do
- Develop production procedures and manage transition of parts and assemblies from development to manufacturing
- Design factory layout, manufacturing systems, and processes for commercial vessel production
- Review CAD models and provide manufacturing feedback to optimize designs for production efficiency
- Design production tooling using calculations and CAD software
- Create manufacturing BOMs, work instructions, and specifications for assembly and test
- Integrate subsystems into complete vehicle assemblies and develop test procedures

- GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Manufacturing processes (fabrication, welding, machining, assembly)
- Production planning and process development
- Technical documentation and work instruction creation
- Python or MATLAB for engineering analysis
- Cross-functional communication and supplier management
