Machine Learning Engineer, AI Agent Platform

About this role

Arta is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to design and build production-ready AI agent systems for wealth management platforms deployed in regulated financial environments. You'll architect agent orchestration systems, develop evaluation frameworks, and enable enterprise deployments while translating research innovations into reliable, scalable production services.

What you'll do

• Design and implement agent architectures including tool use, planning, memory, and orchestration
• Build LLM orchestration systems, prompt management, and workflow execution infrastructure
• Develop evaluation and benchmarking frameworks to measure agent quality, reliability, and safety
• Create infrastructure for self-hosted and multi-tenant enterprise deployments with security and latency constraints
• Develop APIs and platform abstractions for external financial institution partners
• Partner with ML and product teams to integrate agents into live financial workflows with improved observability

What they're looking for

• 5+ years building production ML systems or ML-powered backends
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, agent frameworks, and orchestration
• Strong Python and modern ML tooling
• API and service design beyond notebooks
• Systems thinking: latency, reliability, failure modes, and tradeoffs
• Evaluation and benchmarking systems for ML/LLMs
• Self-hosted models or enterprise AI deployments (plus)
• Distributed systems or data infrastructure (plus)
