Software Engineer - Applications
About this role
Astronomer seeks a Software Engineer to build and ship product features across their web console, backend services, and APIs for Astro, a DataOps platform built on Apache Airflow. You'll work full-stack (React/TypeScript frontend, Go/TypeScript backend) on features that directly impact 800+ enterprise customers, with mentorship from senior engineers as you grow toward independent ownership.
What you'll do
- Write, test, and maintain application code across frontend (React/TypeScript) and backend services (Go/TypeScript)
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team standards for production-ready software
- Build and troubleshoot product features, APIs, and UI workflows across the full stack
- Identify and fix bugs, edge cases, and small-scope issues with senior team support
- Maintain technical documentation, design notes, and testing coverage for built features
- Participate in on-call rotation, pairing with senior engineers to troubleshoot incidents
