About this role

Astronomer seeks a Software Engineer to build and operate infrastructure for Astro, a DataOps platform powering Apache Airflow. You'll work on multi-tenant cloud and private cloud deployments, handling Kubernetes, networking, infrastructure-as-code, and production operations across AWS/GCP/Azure, with mentorship from senior engineers.

What you'll do

  • Write and maintain infrastructure code (Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD) and backend services in Go/TypeScript
  • Operate and troubleshoot cloud resources, Kubernetes clusters, networking, and observability tools
  • Participate in code reviews and infrastructure change reviews to ensure production readiness
  • Identify and resolve bugs, misconfigurations, and small-scope incidents with senior support
  • Maintain runbooks, architecture documentation, and technical notes for systems
  • Participate in on-call rotation to troubleshoot and resolve production incidents
