Avride
Software Engineer, Networking & Linux Systems
About this role
Join us as a Senior Systems & Networking Engineer to design and optimize the communication infrastructure for autonomous vehicles and delivery robots. You'll own everything from internal multi-gigabit Automotive Ethernet networks with microsecond time synchronization to external 5G connectivity, debugging across the entire Linux stack and hardware layers.
What you'll do
- Architect and optimize fault-tolerant internal networks connecting sensors, compute nodes, and controllers with deterministic latency
- Design and implement vehicle-wide PTP/gPTP clock synchronization for safety-critical data paths
- Configure automotive/industrial managed switches (Marvell, Broadcom) with VLAN segmentation and Automotive Ethernet protocols
- Engineer multi-carrier cellular bonding and failover mechanisms for robust external connectivity and zero-drop links
- Debug and tune low-level Linux networking parameters (NIC buffers, hardware offloads, NAPI) for high-throughput, low-latency performance
- Develop system-level software and daemons in Go and Python for x86_64 and ARM64 platforms; build observability and monitoring for fleet connectivity health
What they're looking for
- Linux systems and networking fundamentals
- IP routing, VLANs, firewalling (nftables/iptables)
- Packet analysis and troubleshooting (tcpdump, Wireshark)
- Go and Python programming
- PTP/IEEE 802.1AS (gPTP) time synchronization
- Automotive Ethernet and TSN standards
- Hardware debugging across kernel drivers and physical interfaces
- C/C++ reading and kernel-level debugging
