About this role

Axon seeks an Electrical Engineer II to design and develop innovative mixed-signal electronics for TASER products, including power supplies, microcontrollers, and RF systems. You'll own circuit design through production release while collaborating with cross-functional teams on safety-critical devices used by law enforcement.

What you'll do

  • Design embedded mixed-signal circuits using OrCAD, including high-voltage power supplies, microcontrollers, RF transceivers, and data interfaces
  • Develop and verify assigned system circuitry aligned with project requirements and regulatory standards (FCC, CE, IEC)
  • Collaborate with PCB designers on layout implementation and review designs for signal integrity, power integrity, and manufacturability
  • Bring up, characterize, and debug hardware using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and hi-pot testers
  • Develop test plans, validation methods, and support NPI teams in defining production test requirements
  • Create design documentation including assembly drawings, BOMs, and Gerber files for product release

What they're looking for

  • OrCAD schematic capture and design
  • Power supply design (switch-mode and linear topologies)
  • PCB layout and Cadence tools
  • Embedded microcontroller integration
  • High-voltage electronics design
  • RF transceiver and wireless systems
  • Electronic test equipment operation
  • Regulatory compliance and standards knowledge
