Mission Engineer - Oklahoma City
About this role
Axon is seeking a Mission Engineer to embed with a strategic law enforcement customer in Oklahoma City, serving as the primary technical owner of Axon's platform deployment and driving operational transformation. You'll design and build AI-powered workflows, integrations, and automations onsite, measure real-world impact, and iterate until solutions stick in production—combining deep technical expertise with executive presence and accountability for customer outcomes.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and deploy AI agents, workflows, automations, and integrations on Axon's platform to solve agency-specific operational problems
- Maintain 3–4 days/week onsite presence, embedding with the agency to discover pain points, validate solutions with real users and data, and drive adoption
- Own the full lifecycle of customer outcomes—from deployment and adoption through optimization and ongoing success—measuring impact on mission metrics
- Assess agency workflows, identify friction, and lead operational transformation by moving from reactive support to proactive outcome design
- Troubleshoot issues across Axon's product suite (DEMS, Fusus, AI Era, Records) and coordinate root-cause resolution with Product, Engineering, and Support teams
- Capture field intelligence, document reusable patterns, and partner with Sales and Product to influence roadmap and identify expansion opportunities
What they're looking for
- Platform building and configuration (AI agents, workflows, automations, integrations, data pipelines)
- Customer-facing technical delivery and operational transformation experience
- Problem discovery and outcome-driven design in complex, mission-critical environments
- AI/LLM application and prompt engineering for enterprise workflows
- Program management and cross-functional coordination with Product, Engineering, and Support
- CJIS compliance, evidence integrity, and data privacy standards
- Leadership and stakeholder management with agency command staff and operators
