About this role

Base seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and validate energy storage systems from concept through production deployment. You'll own the full lifecycle of inverters, batteries, and interconnect devices, collaborating across teams to deliver high-performance, cost-efficient solutions for distributed battery networks.

What you'll do

  • Design and oversee end-to-end energy storage systems including inverters, batteries, and microgrid interconnect devices from schematic through manufacturing
  • Execute high voltage and high current validation testing of inverter, battery, and BMS designs
  • Debug complex component interactions and system-level issues across hardware and firmware
  • Lead PCB layout, board bring-up, and initial hardware validation including soldering and mechanical assembly
  • Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, test, and reliability teams to scale products to high-volume manufacturing
  • Drive product reliability and functional testing specifications and execution

  • Digital and analog circuit design with high voltage or power supply expertise
  • PCB design using Altium and board bring-up debugging
  • Power semiconductor knowledge (MOSFETs, IGBTs)
  • Embedded firmware, microcontroller peripherals, and Python scripting
  • Lab equipment proficiency (oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies)
  • Automotive networking protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
  • Control theory including sensor bandwidth and filtering
  • Thermal or mechanical design knowledge
