About this role

Base seeks an Electrical Test Engineer to develop, deploy, and optimize automated manufacturing test systems for battery backup products. You'll drive improvements in equipment reliability and production efficiency while collaborating across teams to ensure world-class quality in a fast-paced startup environment.

What you'll do

  • Lead uptime, cycle time, and first-pass yield improvements on manufacturing test equipment
  • Build, validate, and deploy test equipment to production lines with comprehensive documentation handoff
  • Perform data analysis and customer feedback sessions to identify and address equipment challenges post-deployment
  • Provide troubleshooting support and equipment qualification during development and manufacturing ramp-up
  • Serve as key technical contact between design team and production operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test equipment meets performance expectations

What they're looking for

  • Electrical test systems design (5+ years)
  • End-of-line and functional test system design and build
  • Industrial automation, sensors, and I/O devices (pogo-pins, transducers, PLCs)
  • Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Software code reading (TestStand, LabVIEW, Python, Golang, C/C++)
  • CAN bus communications and trace interpretation
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley/Siemens)
  • Power systems: grid simulators, RLC manipulation, inverter operations
