Internship 2027 Hardware Engineer
About this role
Bedrock is seeking a hardware engineering intern to support the design, integration, and validation of autonomous construction equipment systems. You'll work with senior engineers on sensor integration, component evaluation, and test automation for real-world autonomous platforms deployed across job sites.
What you'll do
- Support hardware design, characterization, integration, and validation of autonomous systems
- Evaluate and test components for autonomous hardware platforms
- Write sensor data analysis and test automation scripts in Python, C++, C, or Rust
- Conduct field tests, collect sensor data, and document engineering results
- Assist with HW system packaging and integration tasks
- Collaborate with senior engineers on autonomous vehicle hardware challenges

- Python, C/C++, or Rust programming
- Embedded compute platforms and edge modules
- Autonomous sensors (lidar, camera, radar, GNSS, IMU)
- Communication protocols (CAN, UART, SPI, Ethernet)
- Circuit analysis and signal processing fundamentals
- Lab equipment operation (multimeter, oscilloscope, soldering)
- Hardware integration and mechanical design basics
- PCB design tools (preferred)
