About this role

Bedrock is seeking a Sensor Systems intern to own sensor selection and placement analysis for autonomous construction equipment. You'll analyze coverage, build simulation tooling, run trade studies, and validate sensor configurations on real machines, bridging sensor physics with autonomy systems architecture.

What you'll do

  • Analyze sensor coverage, occlusion, and blind spots for new machine platforms
  • Build or extend tooling to model field of view, range, and coverage geometry
  • Conduct trade studies balancing performance, cost, durability, and mounting constraints
  • Prototype mounting concepts and validate coverage on actual equipment
  • Develop sensor requirements and specifications for the hardware team
  • Collaborate across perception, hardware, and safety teams on sensor suite design
