About this role
Box seeks a Software Engineer III to advance its Database Platform team, focusing on scaling relational database infrastructure to handle millions of requests per second. You'll design and implement cloud-managed database solutions, streamline schema management tools, and collaborate across teams to solve enterprise-scale data challenges while maintaining high availability and consistency.
What you'll do
- Adopt and evolve cloud-managed database solutions to scale Box's data tier
- Design novel approaches to address scaling challenges from exponential usage growth
- Develop automated tools and interfaces for database schema management and change processes
- Partner with engineering teams to design scalable database schemas for diverse business needs
- Manage critical production systems ensuring performance, availability, and data consistency
- Participate in on-call rotation to respond to and triage production issues
