About this role

CarGurus seeks a Software Development Engineer II to build developer platforms and tooling that improve engineering productivity across the organization. You'll work on AI agentic development, authentication/identity systems, and cloud infrastructure while collaborating across teams to establish best practices and standards.

What you'll do

  • Design and ship developer tooling, framework components, and templates to boost engineering productivity
  • Develop agentic systems using Claude Code, plugins, skills, and MCP servers
  • Enhance authentication services and identity models with Keycloak, OAuth2, and OIDC
  • Build and operate services using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and Kubernetes
  • Drive adoption of standards, guardrails, and best practices across product teams
  • Diagnose and resolve system reliability and performance issues

  • Java (minimum 1+ year production experience)
  • Fullstack software design and development
  • JavaScript, React, Node.js, and Remix
