About this role
CarGurus seeks a Software Development Engineer II to build developer platforms and tooling that improve engineering productivity across the organization. You'll work on AI agentic development, authentication/identity systems, and cloud infrastructure while collaborating across teams to establish best practices and standards.
What you'll do
- Design and ship developer tooling, framework components, and templates to boost engineering productivity
- Develop agentic systems using Claude Code, plugins, skills, and MCP servers
- Enhance authentication services and identity models with Keycloak, OAuth2, and OIDC
- Build and operate services using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and Kubernetes
- Drive adoption of standards, guardrails, and best practices across product teams
- Diagnose and resolve system reliability and performance issues

- Java (minimum 1+ year production experience)
- Fullstack software design and development
- JavaScript, React, Node.js, and Remix
- AWS cloud-native systems and Kubernetes
- OAuth2/OIDC authentication and identity standards
- AI coding tools and agentic systems
