About this role

Voyager Technologies seeks a Cable Harness Engineer to design and validate wiring harness assemblies for lunar landers and spacecraft that operate in extreme space environments. The role involves creating detailed harness designs, performing critical engineering analysis, and coordinating with manufacturing teams—reporting to the Electronic Systems Manager in Pittsburgh, PA on a hybrid basis.

What you'll do

  • Design wiring harness assemblies for lunar landers and flight vehicles rated for harsh space conditions
  • Perform bend radii checks, voltage drop analysis, and mass calculations for harness systems
  • Select connectors and components including Mil-Spec and high-reliability interconnects
  • Create 2D schematics and harness layout drawings for manufacturing teams and external vendors
  • Ensure component compatibility and execute parts standardization across designs
  • Define design parameters including twisting, shielding, gauge selection, and environmental protection

  • Wiring harness design for aerospace/space/military applications
  • Harness manufacturing experience and process knowledge
  • Electrical analysis (voltage drop, DWV, Hi-Pot, IR testing)
  • CAD software (Solidworks, Solidworks Electrical, or equivalent)
  • NASA and military standards (NASA-STD-8739.4A, AS50881, MIL-STD-461G)
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification and Class 3 inspection
  • 3D harness modeling and layout design
  • Space environmental testing knowledge (TVAC, shock, vibration, EMI)
