About this role
Cartesia is seeking a Software Engineer to build scalable platform infrastructure for its voice AI products. You'll own critical systems like realtime infrastructure and create composable components that enable faster feature delivery across the product organization.
What you'll do
- Build and scale platform components supporting Cartesia's growth
- Own critical product infrastructure end-to-end, including realtime systems
- Partner with product teams to identify shared needs and build reusable primitives
- Design composable platform components that accelerate feature delivery
- Navigate ambiguous technical problems with focus on customer outcomes
- Balance execution speed with scalability and quality
What they're looking for
- Backend or platform engineering with 3+ years experience
- Scalable systems design and architecture
- TypeScript, Python, and Go proficiency
- PostgreSQL, Redis, NATS or similar systems (nice-to-have)
- Real-time streaming systems or WebRTC (nice-to-have)
- Observability and monitoring tools like Datadog or Prometheus (nice-to-have)
- Full ownership mentality with strong judgment on technical tradeoffs
