Cartesian Systems
Machine Learning Scientist
About this role
Cartesian, a spatial intelligence startup built on MIT-derived technology, seeks an ML Scientist to develop and deploy positioning and perception models for indoor retail environments. You'll own key algorithmic work, translate research to production, and drive real-world impact across a global customer base.
What you'll do
- Design and deploy ML models for indoor positioning and perception systems
- Optimize model architectures for performance and computational efficiency
- Build datasets and benchmarking tools for real-world, large-scale evaluation
- Transition research prototypes into production pipelines
- Partner with engineering and product teams to deliver features to enterprise customers
What they're looking for
- Machine learning (transformers, probabilistic models, state estimation)
- Time-series data modeling and analysis
- Production-grade Python or systems programming
- Computer vision and multi-sensor fusion
- Wireless localization or signal processing
- Model optimization and mobile deployment
- Cloud-based training and inference infrastructure
- Cross-functional collaboration and technical communication
