EHS Engineer II
About this role
CesiumAstro seeks an EHS Engineer II to develop and oversee comprehensive workplace safety programs for a space technology company. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory compliance, identify hazards, create safety protocols, and foster a culture of continuous improvement across electrical, mechanical, chemical, and other specialized domains.
What you'll do
- Develop and implement workplace safety programs in compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations
- Create safety guidelines, standard operating procedures, training matrices, and audit schedules across multiple safety disciplines
- Identify potential hazards and design protocols to mitigate risks in specialized equipment and operations
- Review and provide safety perspective on electrical modifications, test setups, and equipment purchases
- Manage documentation, lockout/tagout procedures, signage, PPE requirements, and hazardous waste disposal
- Collaborate with executives and engineers to build mission-enabling safety frameworks from the ground up
