About this role
Commonwealth Fusion Systems seeks a Metrology Engineer to develop and implement inspection methods for precision components supporting their SPARC fusion project. You'll collaborate across manufacturing, design, and quality teams to ensure hardware meets exacting performance standards through advanced measurement systems and repeatable inspection processes.
What you'll do
- Develop and validate inspection methods for complex, highly engineered hardware
- Design metrology tooling and measurement strategies in collaboration with manufacturing and design teams
- Conduct hands-on testing with advanced measurement systems and instrumentation
- Document inspection procedures and establish repeatable processes for production scaling
- Partner with Supply Chain, Quality, and R&D to ensure hardware meets performance requirements
- Present metrology results and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders
