About this role

Clay is seeking an Accounting Engineer to pioneer a new discipline merging accounting, finance systems, and AI-driven automation. You'll own end-to-end monthly close operations, optimize financial systems and workflows, and collaborate across the organization on analytics and infrastructure initiatives.

What you'll do

  • Own monthly close process including journal entries, reconciliations, flux analysis, and financial reporting
  • Build and optimize automation workflows using AI to streamline accounting operations
  • Manage Clay's ERP and connected finance systems (payroll, expense, equity, billing)
  • Support audit readiness and explore real-time audit tooling with external auditors
  • Lead finance transformation and automation initiatives across the accounting function
  • Collaborate on cross-functional projects including product analytics and GTM initiatives
