Founding Engineer
About this role
Join an early-stage AI startup as a founding engineer to build AI-powered workflows for defense and medical device engineering teams. You'll own the full technical stack from architecture to production, shipping LLM agent systems that integrate with CAD/CAE/PLM tools and directly impact how experienced engineers work.
What you'll do
- Design and build system architecture integrating AI agents with CAD, CAE, and PLM tools while meeting defense/medical security requirements
- Own end-to-end engineering: architecture, production deployment, observability, testing, and on-call operations
- Ship first production AI workflow into live customer program and measure its impact
- Build evaluation and training loops using simulation, test data, and reinforcement learning grounded in physics
- Engage directly with partner company engineers to identify real-world failure modes and translate learnings into platform capabilities
- Expand platform across multiple companies while building and mentoring a small engineering team
