Founding Engineer
About this role
Join an early-stage startup as a founding engineer building AI-assisted PCB design tools and EDA automation infrastructure. You'll own the full technical stack from frontend tooling to backend systems and manufacturing integrations, working directly with the founding team to shape product direction at the intersection of hardware and modern developer tools.
What you'll do
- Build and ship AI-assisted PCB design tools and EDA automation features to users
- Integrate manufacturing pipelines and manage end-to-end hardware-to-production workflows
- Own full-stack problems across platform, from backend systems to user-facing tooling
- Collaborate with founding team to define technical strategy and product direction
- Ship fast, iterate on user feedback, and address business-critical blockers
- Contribute to technical architecture decisions and long-term platform design
What they're looking for
- PCB design, schematic review, or KiCad experience
- Proficiency in C, C++, Rust, or Go
- Embedded systems and firmware development
- Full-stack software engineering and systems design
- Hardware product development and manufacturing knowledge
- AI/ML concepts applied to design automation (bonus)
- EDA tools and supply chain integration (bonus)
- Open-source contribution or portfolio work
