Infrastructure Design Engineer
About this role
Crusoe seeks an Infrastructure Deployment Engineer to oversee physical deployment of data center whitespace environments, managing racks, power systems, cooling, and cabling installations. You'll serve as the critical link between engineering design and operational readiness, ensuring deployments meet specifications, safety standards, and timelines before handoff to operations teams.
What you'll do
- Manage on-site deployment of whitespace infrastructure including racks, floor layouts, and containment systems
- Direct installation and validation of hot/cold aisle containment and cooling performance
- Supervise structured cabling deployment including fiber backbones, patch panels, and cable infrastructure
- Coordinate with contractors and engineering teams to resolve field conflicts and ensure quality assurance
- Maintain asset tracking, as-built documentation, and deployment status reporting to meet Ready for Service dates
- Develop standardized deployment playbooks and identify efficiency improvements for capacity scaling

- Data center construction and commissioning experience (5+ years in hyperscale or colocation)
- Power distribution and electrical systems knowledge
- Cooling infrastructure and airflow management expertise
- Structured cabling and fiber optic testing (OTDR, LSPM methods)
- CAD/BIM tools proficiency (AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam)
- DCIM tools and asset management systems
- NFPA 70, OSHA safety, and BICSI standards knowledge
- Vendor and cross-functional team management
