Crusoe
Instrumentation and Controls Engineer II, Deployment
About this role
Crusoe seeks an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II to deploy and maintain building management and electrical power monitoring systems in mission-critical data center environments. You'll lead small-scale projects, support full-campus system delivery, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and grow your expertise in both mechanical controls and electrical monitoring under senior guidance.
What you'll do
- Lead small-scale BMS and EPMS projects such as subsystem retrofits, hardware deployments, and sensor integrations across buildings
- Identify and resolve system inefficiencies including suboptimal control logic, monitoring gaps, and data polling latency issues
- Support commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems, validating sensor alignment with Sequence of Operations and meter readings
- Troubleshoot complex onsite issues such as unstable PID loops, communication bottlenecks, and power measurement discrepancies
- Coordinate with mechanical and electrical trade partners, equipment manufacturers, and commissioning agents to resolve integration gaps
- Develop technical documentation including Root Cause Analysis reports and cross-functional MEP coordination materials
What they're looking for
- Building Automation Systems (BMS) and Sequence of Operations knowledge
- Electrical power monitoring and SCADA systems
- HVAC controls and mechanical systems understanding
- Modbus TCP, BACnet, and industrial communication protocols
- PID loop tuning and control logic optimization
- Technical documentation and electrical/mechanical drawing interpretation
- Troubleshooting network and communication issues (RS-485, IP configuration)
- Root cause analysis and technical writing
Benefits
- Work on mission-critical AI infrastructure powering the future of compute
- Mentorship from senior engineers across energy, manufacturing, and data center domains
- Opportunity to grow from task execution into project ownership
- Exposure to vertically integrated technology stack from hardware to cloud services
- Career development in high-performing, specialized technical environment
