About this role

Join CYVL as a Summer Engineering Intern and work on real product features powering infrastructure management software used by 500+ cities. You'll contribute to frontend and backend systems, develop ML capabilities, and gain hands-on experience with modern cloud tools and AI-assisted development in a fast-moving startup.

What you'll do

  • Build and ship real product features to customers across frontend and backend systems
  • Write tested Python code for APIs and services using Supabase
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers on infrastructure-focused features
  • Learn to direct and review output from AI coding agents on production codebases
  • Gain experience with cloud-based tools and DevOps workflows
  • Receive mentorship through pairing sessions and code reviews from senior engineers

  • Python programming
  • SQL and database design (Postgres preferred)
  • API and backend service development
  • AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor)
  • React or frontend frameworks (nice to have)
  • Docker/Kubernetes or cloud platforms (nice to have)
  • Computer vision and ML models (nice to have)
  • Full-stack development and deployment
