About this role
Join CYVL as a Summer Engineering Intern and work on real product features powering infrastructure management software used by 500+ cities. You'll contribute to frontend and backend systems, develop ML capabilities, and gain hands-on experience with modern cloud tools and AI-assisted development in a fast-moving startup.
What you'll do
- Build and ship real product features to customers across frontend and backend systems
- Write tested Python code for APIs and services using Supabase
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers on infrastructure-focused features
- Learn to direct and review output from AI coding agents on production codebases
- Gain experience with cloud-based tools and DevOps workflows
- Receive mentorship through pairing sessions and code reviews from senior engineers

- Python programming
- SQL and database design (Postgres preferred)
- API and backend service development
- AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor)
- React or frontend frameworks (nice to have)
- Docker/Kubernetes or cloud platforms (nice to have)
- Computer vision and ML models (nice to have)
- Full-stack development and deployment
