AI Engineer - FDE (Forward Deployed Engineer) - U.S. Federal Sector
About this role
Databricks is hiring an AI Engineer (Forward Deployed) to deliver specialized GenAI consulting and professional services to federal sector customers. You'll develop production-grade AI solutions, advise customers on advanced AI techniques, and help shape the product roadmap while working from the DC/Maryland/Virginia area with required U.S. citizenship and secret clearance eligibility.
What you'll do
- Develop and deploy production-grade GenAI applications including RAG, multi-agent systems, and fine-tuning solutions for federal customers
- Own end-to-end production rollouts and optimization of AI applications
- Serve as technical advisor to customers across multiple domains and industries
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to influence roadmap priorities
- Present technical insights at conferences and establish thought leadership
- Travel to customer sites periodically (once every 4-8 weeks) for engagement and collaboration
