Diligent Robotics
Manufacturing Reliability Engineer (Austin, TX; 50% travel to Milwaukee, WI)
About this role
Diligent seeks a Manufacturing Reliability Engineer to own end-to-end production test and provisioning for robots at a contract manufacturer. You'll design test protocols, manage firmware deployment flows, drive quality KPIs (FPY, cycle time, test coverage), and serve as the technical authority on-site in Milwaukee, collaborating across hardware, software, and operations teams.
What you'll do
- Design, validate, and maintain production test protocols and gating criteria from incoming inspection through final shipment
- Own provisioning flows including imaging, firmware deployment, configuration, and validation of robot fleets
- Track and improve key production metrics: First Pass Yield, cycle time, and test coverage
- Architect and maintain automated test frameworks, harnesses, and test rigs at the contract manufacturer site
- Lead root-cause analysis for production and field failures; coordinate corrective actions across teams
- Serve as onsite technical authority: train operators, debug production issues, and refine processes with CM partners
What they're looking for
- Production and test engineering for complex electro-mechanical products
- End-to-end test process ownership and protocol development
- Firmware provisioning and validation (sensor and compute firmware)
- Systems integration, sensors (cameras, LiDAR, IMU), embedded compute, and networking
- Test automation and framework implementation (Python, pytest, LabVIEW)
- Debugging across hardware, firmware, and system software
- Data-driven KPI analysis and statistical process control
- Contract manufacturer collaboration and cross-functional communication
