About this role

Western Magnesium is seeking a Project Engineer to lead a pilot plant facility from design through operations in Las Vegas. You'll oversee construction safety and procedures, then transition to supervising operations while managing data and process optimization, with opportunities for advancement into senior leadership.

What you'll do

  • Conduct Hazardous Operability studies and Risk Assessments during pilot plant design and construction
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures and lead daily safety toolbox talks with construction crew
  • Manage project schedules, work orders, and lockouts/confined space entries
  • Supervise operations and maintenance teams; operate equipment and manage process data during plant startup
  • Optimize flowsheets and coordinate sample analysis with external laboratories
  • Maintain weekly management updates and oversee equipment deliveries
