About this role

DoorDash Labs seeks a Hardware Systems Integration Engineer to own the bring-up, integration, and validation of robotic platforms for last-mile delivery. You'll debug complex hardware-software interfaces across sensors, power, controls, and embedded systems, using lab equipment to ensure platform reliability before deployment.

What you'll do

  • Own hardware bring-up, integration, and validation of robotic systems from prototype through deployment readiness
  • Define electrical, mechanical, and firmware interface requirements; identify integration risks and dependencies
  • Debug hardware interfaces across vehicle controls, power distribution, motion control, sensors, and communication buses
  • Develop test setups, bench rigs, diagnostic workflows, and wiring harnesses to validate integrated subsystems
  • Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and CAN tools to diagnose electrical, timing, and signal integrity issues
  • Develop and execute validation procedures to stress-test battery, drivetrain, thermal, sensor, and controller subsystems

What they're looking for

  • Hardware systems integration and vehicle bring-up
  • Electrical debugging (signal integrity, timing, power issues)
  • CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, USB, GPIO protocol troubleshooting
  • Lab equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies
  • Schematic reading, wiring diagrams, board documentation, mechanical drawings
  • Python and Linux shell scripting for test automation
  • Git version control and diagnostic tools
  • Mechatronics and embedded system validation
