About this role
Etched seeks a Signal Integrity and Power Integrity Engineer to design and validate high-speed PCB and system interfaces for AI inference hardware. You'll own SI/PI methodology from architecture through production, ensuring electrical margins are met on multi-gigabit serial links and power delivery networks.
What you'll do
- Perform pre- and post-layout SI simulations for PCIe Gen5/Gen6 and 112G/224G Ethernet interfaces
- Conduct channel analysis, link budgets, and define PCB topology, trace geometry, and via optimization guidelines
- Develop and maintain COM, IBIS, S-parameter, and SPICE models with lab correlation
- Design and analyze power delivery networks including target impedance, decoupling, and IR-drop simulations
- Drive design rule checks and DFI compliance; collaborate with layout and ASIC teams on guidelines
- Support hardware bring-up, debug signal quality issues, and maintain simulation-to-hardware correlation databases
What they're looking for
- Signal integrity and power integrity analysis for high-speed designs
- Cadence Sigrity, Ansys SIwave/HFSS, or Keysight ADS EDA tools
- Transmission line theory, eye-diagram analysis, and jitter decomposition
- PDN modeling and target impedance methodology
- Multi-layer PCB stack-up design and controlled-impedance routing
- Lab instrumentation: VNA, TDR, BERT, oscilloscope techniques
- Python or MATLAB scripting for simulation automation
- Data center, AI accelerator, or HPC hardware experience
Benefits
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage with $500/month waiver credit
- $2,000/month housing subsidy for walking distance to office
- Relocation support to San Jose (Santana Row)
- Wellness benefits covering fitness and mental health
- Daily lunch and dinner provided in office
- Unlimited compute budget subject to ROI justification
