About this role
Join a growing optics company in Austin as a Manufacturing/NPI Engineer to lead the transition of optical products from design to production. You'll manage prototype builds, optimize manufacturing processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet quality and cost targets.
What you'll do
- Lead new product introduction (NPI) activities from prototype through initial production runs
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for optical components and assemblies
- Collaborate with design and quality teams to resolve manufacturing challenges
- Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and assembly procedures
- Conduct design-for-manufacturability (DFM) reviews and implement improvements
- Manage supplier relationships and evaluate manufacturing capabilities
