About this role
Fluidstack seeks a Test Engineer to design and operate test facilities for next-generation compressors and cooling systems supporting massive AI compute infrastructure. You'll build test stands from scratch, validate machine performance, and embed testing directly into the design cycle at unprecedented scale.
What you'll do
- Commission test cells including motor benches, high-pressure gas loops, and instrumentation from empty bays
- Develop and execute test plans with safety interlocks and abort criteria for high-speed, high-pressure machinery
- Define measurement chains and uncertainty budgets to ensure performance claims withstand external scrutiny
- Conduct controlled failure testing and root-cause investigations to inform design iterations
- Integrate test data into weekly design cycles, sitting alongside design teams rather than reporting to them
- Specify compressor performance mapping from initial spin to validated operating envelope
