About this role
Formic seeks a Controls & Automation Engineer to support and optimize deployed robotic systems across manufacturing facilities. You'll diagnose complex automation failures, implement reliability improvements, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent performance in production environments.
What you'll do
- Diagnose and resolve complex automation and robotic system failures to minimize downtime
- Design and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies across the fleet
- Analyze production data and diagnostic trends to identify performance gaps and systemic issues
- Provide remote technical support via service tickets and guide onsite troubleshooting when needed
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives including hardware and software upgrades
- Mentor field technicians and serve as escalation point for complex technical issues
