About this role

Formic seeks a Controls & Automation Engineer to support and optimize its growing fleet of deployed robotic systems in manufacturing environments. You'll diagnose complex failures, design reliability improvements, and partner across teams to ensure consistent uptime and performance in live factory settings.

What you'll do

  • Diagnose and resolve complex automation failures to minimize production downtime
  • Design and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to improve system reliability
  • Lead system-level continuous improvement initiatives including hardware and software upgrades
  • Provide remote support via service tickets and guide troubleshooting; escalate to field teams as needed
  • Support local field service activities for both reactive and preventative maintenance
  • Mentor field technicians on troubleshooting best practices and maintain comprehensive system documentation
