About this role

Formic seeks a Controls & Automation Engineer to support and optimize deployed robotic systems across manufacturing facilities. You'll diagnose complex failures, implement reliability improvements, and partner across teams to ensure consistent uptime and performance in production environments.

What you'll do

  • Diagnose and resolve complex automation system failures to minimize production downtime
  • Design and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to improve fleet reliability
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives including hardware and software upgrades across deployed systems
  • Provide remote technical support via service tickets and triage issues to field teams as needed
  • Analyze production data and diagnostic trends to identify systemic performance gaps
  • Mentor field technicians on troubleshooting best practices and system health standards
