About this role

Formlabs seeks a 3D Print Optimization Engineer to enhance SLA and SLS printing performance by solving multidisciplinary challenges across hardware, software, and materials. You'll conduct root cause analysis and design experiments to drive customer-focused improvements in speed, reliability, accuracy, and ease of use.

What you'll do

  • Optimize SLA and SLS 3D printing platforms by analyzing mechanics, fluid dynamics, software, chemistry, optics, electronics, and thermodynamics
  • Conduct root cause analysis on complex system failures and performance issues
  • Design and execute controlled experiments to isolate variables in complicated printing systems
  • Develop commercializable solutions that measurably improve customer print performance
  • Collaborate across disciplines to address multifaceted technical challenges
  • Validate improvements and assess customer impact before product release
