About this role
Formlabs seeks a 3D Print Optimization Engineer to enhance SLA and SLS printing performance by solving complex, multi-disciplinary challenges involving hardware, software, and materials. You'll conduct experiments, perform root cause analysis, and develop solutions that directly improve customer print speed, reliability, and quality.
What you'll do
- Optimize SLA and SLS 3D printing platforms across hardware, software, and material domains
- Conduct root cause analysis considering mechanics, fluid dynamics, optics, chemistry, and thermodynamics
- Design and execute experiments to isolate variables in complex printing systems
- Develop and commercialize solutions that measurably improve customer print performance
- Collaborate cross-functionally to solve multi-disciplinary technical challenges
- Gather and prioritize customer needs to guide optimization priorities
