About this role

Formlabs seeks an Electrical Engineer for December 2026 or May 2027 graduates to design and develop complete electronic systems for 3D printing hardware. You'll own full-stack projects spanning circuit design, PCB layout, firmware, and integration with mechanical and software subsystems, supporting products from prototype through field deployment.

What you'll do

  • Design and build prototypes and production electronic systems including circuits, PCB layouts, and embedded firmware
  • Own complete projects end-to-end, shipping working products rather than specializing in one area
  • Design subsystems like sensors and actuators that balance electrical and mechanical tradeoffs
  • Validate designs using simulations and experimental data to support engineering decisions
  • Support designs throughout the product lifecycle from research through debugging field issues
  • Collaborate across hardware, firmware, and mechanical teams on complex integrated systems
