About this role
Define engineering design criteria and design basis for a nuclear fuel enrichment facility, translating safety requirements and regulatory standards into clear guidelines that guide the entire engineering design organization. This systems-level role bridges safety analysis with physical implementation across all facility systems, structures, and components.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain design criteria and design basis documentation for facility systems, structures, and components
- Translate safety functions, regulatory requirements, and applicable codes into defensible engineering design criteria
- Establish design criteria for natural phenomena hazards (seismic, wind, flood) and external events
- Define load combinations, environmental conditions, and applicable standards for design
- Review designs, calculations, and specifications for conformance to established design criteria
- Coordinate with ISA, criticality safety, fire protection, and structural/mechanical teams to ensure design criteria reflect facility safety basis
