About this role
Design and build fixtures and workholding solutions for CNC mills and lathes at a new nuclear fuel enrichment manufacturing facility. Own tooling design from concept through production deployment, collaborating directly with machinists and programmers to ensure precision, rigidity, and cycle-time efficiency.
What you'll do
- Design fixtures, jigs, and workholding systems for CNC milling and turning operations using CAD
- Validate tooling fit, rigidity, and cycle-time impact with machinists before production rollout
- Source or coordinate fabrication of fixture components with external vendors and machine shops
- Troubleshoot part-holding issues and iterate designs based on shop floor feedback
- Qualify new tooling to ensure parts meet tolerance and production targets
- Collaborate with CNC programmers to optimize setup and part flow
