Gotion Inc. seeks a bilingual Construction Cost Estimator/Cost Engineer to manage cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control for a large-scale battery manufacturing facility under construction in Illinois. This role bridges U.S. contractors and Chinese management, requiring fluent English and Mandarin proficiency alongside 3+ years of construction estimating expertise.
What you'll do
- Prepare quantity takeoffs, conceptual estimates, and detailed cost estimates for industrial, civil, architectural, MEP, and site development work
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents; analyze contractor and supplier proposals for scope gaps and pricing accuracy
- Manage change order reviews, budget forecasts, and financial reporting while tracking contract values and payment applications
- Verify labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, overhead, and profit costs across all project phases
- Participate in procurement activities, bid evaluations, and commercial negotiations with contractors and suppliers
- Serve as bilingual liaison communicating project cost data and financial information between U.S. teams and Chinese management
