Join Human Computer Lab, a robotics startup creating expressive consumer robots like LeLamp. As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you'll design and build hardware systems that enable robots to perceive, communicate, and interact naturally with humans, collaborating with ML and software engineers to bring research into production-ready products.
What you'll do
- Design and develop robotic hardware that physically expresses behavior and intelligence
- Build hardware systems supporting computer vision, audio processing, and interaction understanding
- Integrate machine learning models with robotic hardware and embedded systems
- Prototype and iterate on robot perception, responsiveness, and expression capabilities
- Collaborate with ML and software engineers to create expressive robotics systems
- Troubleshoot and improve hardware performance in real-world conditions
