About this role

IMC is hiring a Linux Engineer in Chicago to design and operate large-scale Linux infrastructure supporting mission-critical trading systems and research workloads. You'll enhance automation, manage 10,000+ bare-metal servers globally, and develop Python/Bash tools while ensuring system stability and performance.

What you'll do

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex Linux issues on enterprise systems to ensure stability and performance at scale
  • Enhance configuration management code using Puppet/Hiera across 10,000+ bare-metal Linux servers
  • Develop and maintain Python and Bash automation tools for large-scale systems management
  • Improve provisioning workflows to deploy bare servers into production-ready platforms
  • Extend monitoring, logging, and alerting integrations for full fleet visibility
  • Communicate status and collaborate with peers through code reviews, tickets, and meetings
