About this role
Intrinsic, Google's AI robotics group, seeks a Robotics Software Engineer to develop grasping and manipulation algorithms that simplify industrial robot operation. You'll create production-ready software that abstracts complex robotic tasks into intuitive workflows, enabling broader adoption across manufacturing sectors.
What you'll do
- Design and implement production-ready algorithms for robotic grasping and manipulation
- Translate cutting-edge robotics research into practical industrial solutions
- Convert complex partner requirements into reliable technical implementations
- Test and iterate algorithms on physical robot hardware
- Enhance the robotics software framework and product reliability
- Collaborate with roboticists and application engineers on industrial task validation

- C++ and Python programming with production-quality code experience
- Linear algebra, spatial transformations, and rigid body dynamics
- Robotic manipulation (5+ years professional experience)
- Physical robot testing and hardware integration
- Machine learning frameworks (JAX, TensorFlow, or PyTorch preferred)
- Full-stack robotics development (kinematics through system integration)
- Motion planning and generation
- Reinforcement learning (differentiator)
