About this role

Kairos Power seeks an Operations Engineer to own technical performance of process systems for a fluoride-salt-cooled nuclear reactor facility, spanning design through commissioning and routine operation. You'll bridge engineering and operations by translating system requirements into practical procedures, controls, and field practices while troubleshooting performance issues and driving reliability improvements.

What you'll do

  • Serve as technical owner for assigned process systems from design through commissioning, startup, and routine operation
  • Perform process, hydraulic, and pneumatic calculations using tools like AFT Fathom and AFT Arrow to predict system performance and define equipment limits
  • Analyze plant data, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot process, equipment, instrumentation, and control issues
  • Support commissioning, startup, and acceptance testing plans including factory and site acceptance activities
  • Develop operating procedures, training materials, alarms, interlocks, and operator response guidance based on engineering requirements
  • Participate in process safety activities including hazard analyses, change management, incident investigations, and root-cause analysis
