About this role
Kong is hiring a Software Engineer to join the IAM Team, building secure identity and access management microservices in Golang that protect millions of API requests across Kong Konnect and the Developer Portal. You'll develop scalable backend services on AWS and Kubernetes, implementing authentication and authorization systems for a multi-tenant platform serving enterprise customers and developers globally.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain backend microservices in Golang for authentication and authorization services
- Build and deploy scalable APIs on AWS using Kubernetes for container orchestration
- Implement secure, performant backend services that enforce access control policies at scale
- Write clean, well-tested code with comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end test coverage
- Collaborate with security teams to implement IAM best practices and design solutions
- Participate in on-call rotation and monitor service performance through observability tools
